IOI Logo explained:

The IOI logo was created by the Graphics department at the University of Waterloo. The font of the logo is Gotham, which is the new identifying font of the University of Waterloo. The graphical element of the logo is an "inuksuk", which is a stone landmark typically seen in the Arctic regions of Canada. Inuksult are piles of stones that are used as landmarks, way-point indicators or markers for hunting grounds
